Assessment of Written Practice

The Board has developed a guideline for employers to follow when producing its written practice, and an audit guide which could be used to assess a written practice.

A good written practice is important for organisations to operate using Australian Standard AS3669 (EN 4179). The Board can offer assistance to those preparing these documents.

Member’s liability /disclaimer

The Board needs to fulfil its advisory role while keeping its volunteer members free of legal liability. Legal counsel has provided guidance which resulted in a revision to the governance procedure, adding a legal disclaimer.

Additionally, the Board's governance documents provide clear procedures for dealing with conflicts of interest.

Transition of Business from AANDTC

The need for the Australian Aerospace NDT Committee no longer exits and the Board has formally wound up the business of that committee.

An agreement with the Australian Institute of NDT has been finalised, however the Board and the AINDT will continue to communicate and co-operate for mutual benefit.
