NA-007 Role of the NANDTB with respect of the Australian Standard AS 3669

AS 3669 was formulated to assist the aerospace industry in standardising the training and qualifications of NDT personnel operating within it. It is equivalent to EN 4179 (2003) and NAS 410 (2003). On the invitation of Standards Australia the Board may provide expertise to assist Standards Australia in the revision of AS3669.

AS 3669 describes the requirements for a company based NDT training and qualification system for the aerospace industry. Approval of personnel to any level of NDT can only be made by the employer. The Board has a role in the recognition of the employer’s training and qualification program as required by the standard.
